Do your servers support IPv6 (AAAA DNS)?

At the present time we do not offer IPv6 for any of our web servers. The demand for this upgrade to our systems is still minimal and we don't see a need in the near future.

While the world will be running out of IPv4 addresses to distribute, the slow migration of other some providers around the globe helps with slowing down this process. This depletion is no news and we've known about it for well over a decade and the small fraction of servers that have switched need to run in parallel networks to allow for the proper exchange of data between these protocols through some special gateways.

This in turn means that not only hosting providers have to be changed to support this advanced network structure, but so will ISPs (Internet Service Providers), software and routers will have to be changed to support it at home and office. The idea is to try to make the switch as seamless as possible, and a full switch will cause more harm than good.

Regardless of this reason, we do not exclude the possibility of enabling this service at a later time, but if we were to make a guesstimation, it won't be until 2018 the earliest.

While there are several benefits to IPv6, and it certainly won't be affecting most end users even with computers dating fromt he XP and X.10.2 era, their web routers and servers may still be outdated making this type of connection an impossibility.

Another thing to keep in mind is that IPv6 is still considered relatively new and developers worldwide are trtubg ti fix as many bugs under this protocol as possible, to ensure the safety and security of all web surfers.

We cannot guarantee that we'll start our switch by 2018, but we most certainly will already be looking into that possibility by then.

The benefits are presently outweighed by the negativities for this switch. Once we start with the IPv6 rollout, we'll update this question with the relevant information.
