How Long until my SSL Certificate is Active?

Regardless of the SSL Certificate choice you opted out for, it usually takes 2 hours after installing on your web server the SSL Certificate.

In the case of AutoSSL, the certificates will install on their own and the effects on renewal of the certificate are minimal. However, in the case of manually installed SSL Certificates (free or paid), it can take up to 2 days for the certificate authority to validate your certificate.

In the case of a non-automatic SSL request, you may be required to create a CSR (Certificate Signing Request) and in some cases, a Private Key. In either case, the data displayed on the CSR will be linked to your domain and will require validation by the Certificate Authority. Depending on the amount of requests received by the CA, this can be a few minutes, or longer, if something doesn't seem right. Often times you are required to validate the authenticity of the request either by performing an ACME-CHALLENGE, or validating a key code sent via email. Other methods may exist, but these are the most common.

I requested Installation Service. Why is it taking so long?

If you purchase our SSL Certificate Installation Addon Service, then your order will be handled as soon as our next available operative opens your request, during extended business hours.

Please understand that the service could be handled within a few minutes or the next business day, depending on the time the request was submited and its order on our service queue.

I purchased an SSL Certificate, but my server is with a different provider

In the event you purchased your SSL Certificate from us and you need it installed on a third party provider's engine, you will still be able to perform the installation as you normally would with any other provider.

If you requested the installation addon service, there may be an extra recharge, should be process require extra steps than the norm. Regardless, you will be required to provide us with access to the control panel for which you requested the installation service for. Our member in charge will contact you to request this information via our support ticket system.

Why is there a separate charge for the Trust Logo?

Different websites are usually designed and configured differently. In order to load the trust logo images and link it to your website, our programmers will need to dive into your code or CMS to insert the code in the respective code zones, as instructed by the Certificate Authority. In extreme cases, there may be an additional fee for sites that require manual installation of the trust code in multiple non-template based pages.

Why is my site not opening directly to HTTPS?

While in some cases we will try to get your site to automatically launch to HTTPS, if there are security or other errors and variables specific to your particular website, you will require your webmaster to make the appropriate changes and apply the redirection for your website to resolve to HTTPS.

Our installation of the SSL Certificate only focuses on generating a CSR where applicable, validating and installing the SSL Certificate to your control panel. In the case for the Trust Seal, we will only upload the images to your server and link them via the validation code on the respective template file(s).

In the event you are a BZVLLC web development customer, you will also have your domain properly resolve to HTTPS. This will usually be included in the web development quoted price, unless you purchased an additional SSL certificate for another domain you own. In which case, please contact our billing department to further assist you.

I still have questions
